| Volunteer Positions - SOCCER COMMITTEE
Executive
Soccer Committee Chair: Suzanne Brett Welsh: Organizes the committee; recruits committee members; assigns tasks where appropriate; liaises with the City Parks Department and with the VRCA Board of Directors.
Secretary: Krista Reiach. Attends all Soccer Committee meetings, take minutes and distribute minutes to committee members.
Registration Coordinator: Heather McKay: Update the database with paper registrations and contact information as needed. Process teams through the Database program.
Uniform Coordinator: Jocelyn Greenwood: Order designated uniforms and coordinate distribution of the uniforms through Division Coordinators.
Coach Liaison: Chris Dingle: Assist Registration Coordinator with assigning coaches to teams. Organize training for coaches and distribution of kits (balls, whistles, etc.). Correspond with coaches re: beginning and end of season procedures.
Treasurer: Devin Wagner
Soccer Committee Members
Division Coordinators: Krista Reiach (U4); Gina Ursulak (U5/U6); Miranda Liu (U8/U10). Make contact with team managers and assist throughout the season. Issue uniforms, distribute team lists and schedules and liaise with teams and Registrar.
Team Managers: One per Team. Liaise with Division Coordinators and Coaches and/or Team families depending on the situation. Emails the team list and schedule to each team family. Reminds team of upcoming dates (i.e. Photo day, BBQ) and to visit website for information. Tracks volunteer effort at the field performed by parents. No longer holds volunteer cheques. Often organizes the snack schedule, but that can be determined by the team. Assists with Photo Day (Team Photo Co-ordinator is no longer a volunteer option).
Club Photo Coordinator: Robin Horvath: Organize photographer for team photos and communicate with Division Coordinators re: procedures, dates, times. Distribute photos and end of season mementos to Division Coordinators.
Equipment Kit Coordinator: Russ Wright: Completes pre-season inventory and prepare kits for each team. Receive equipment from coaches at end of season. Take inventory - report to the committee any missing or broken equipment that will need to be replaced/repaired for next season.
Field Coordinator: VACANT. Sets up field maps; arranges for seasonal field marking through Calgary West Soccer. Arranges for seasonal Porto-Potty rental.
Bottle Drive Coordinator: Ammon Piepgrass: Organize volunteers, supplies, bottle depot.
BBQ Coordinator: Christie Guirguis: Works with the VRCA to organize the community/soccer BBQ. Coordinate volunteers and signage.
Volunteer Coordinator: Ivonne Carter: Work with event coordinators, the executive and team managers to cross-check parent volunteer effort.
Communications Coordinator: VACANT: Works with the Secretary to update the soccer website (using WYSIWYG) and provide updates to the Breeze during the soccer season.
DURING THE SEASON:
Bottle Drive (2-5hrs) - Collecting and sorting bottles in VR and Crestmont. April 24, 2010. Start time 9 a.m.
Pathway Clean Up (3-4 hrs) - May 8, 2010. Start time 9 a.m.
Pancake Breakfast (2-3hrs) - Cook and/or serve breakfast, etc. to public. Prep and/or take down tables and equipment. May 29, 2010. Start time 8 a.m.
VRCA & Valley Ridge Soccer BBQ & Activity Day - June 26, 2010. Start time 10 a.m.
In coordination with the VRCA: Pick up supplies
Set up tables/chairs
Sell/receive tickets
Serve food
Cook (BBQ) Assist at events held at BBQ
